Green Horses Claim Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship Titles

Lexington, Ky.—Dec. 2, 2022—The Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championships saw ten horse-and-rider combinations collect the champion tricolors throughout the year. Hosted by six shows spread across the country as an added benefit to USHJA Green Hunter Incentive program participants, each Regional Championship featured separate 3'0/3'3" and 3'6"/3'9" sections.

The North Central Championship was held June 8-12 at the Split Rock Hunter Jumper Classic I CSI3* in Lexington, Kentucky. 

  • 3'0/3'3": Christopher Payne, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Roper, owned by New Hope LLC
  • 3'6"/3'9": Nick Haness, of San Clemente, California, and Small Love, owned by Elizabeth Reilly, Augusta Iwasaki and Chris M. Iwasaki

The Southwest Championship took place at the Blenheim June Classic II, June 15-19 in San Juan Capistrano, California. 

  • 3'0/3'3": Katie Taylor-Davidson, of Mission Viejo, California, and Decisive, owned by Walkenbach Equestrian LLC
  • 3'6"/3'9": Halie Robinson, of Santa Barbara, California, and Rocketman, owned by Rosender LLC

The South Championship was June 29-July 3 at the North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association Annual Horse Show in Raeford, North Carolina.

  • 3'0/3'3": Daniel Geitner, of Aiken, South Carolina, and Brooklyn, owned by Martin Schlaeppi
  • 3'6"/3'9": Geitner and Mr. Manhattan, owned by Schlaeppi

The Northwest Championship was held at the Oregon Summer Classic, August 24-28 in Wilsonville, Oregon.

  • Combined 3'0/3'3" and 3'6"/3'9: Corene Smith, of Covington, Washington, and Reign, owned by Asa Caditz 

The East Championship was relocated to HITS-on-the-Hudson VIII, September 7-11 in Saugerties, New York. 

  • 3'0/3'3": Brian Feigus, of Colts Neck, New Jersey, and Little Big Man HX, owned by Redfield Farm

The South Central Championship finished off the year at Harvest, November 2-6 in Katy, Texas.

Each year, horses enrolled in the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program can choose from six regional championships held across the country to compete in and vie for a regional title. In 2023, horses may compete in multiple Regional Championships with six locations to choose from:
