Markel/USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships: Apply

Riders interested in competing in the Markel/USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships must submit an application and earn a minimum of 20 points in their respective 1.10/1.15m Junior and Amateur Jumper and 1.20/1.25m Junior and Amateur Jumper sections at USEF-licensed competitions by their zone’s deadline for a chance to qualify. Refer to the Jumper point tabulation chart in GR-1134 for the 1.10/1.15m Junior/Amateur sections and GR-1134.3 for the 1.20/1.25m Junior/Amateur sections in the USEF General Rulebook for a full breakdown of acquiring points within the qualifying period.

The qualifying periods vary by zone championship, beginning the Monday following the conclusion of the previous year’s championship and ending 45 days prior to the start of the current year’s championship.

Application Deadlines by Zone:

  • Northeast (Zones 1 & 2): May 17, 2026
  • South (Zones 3, 4, & 7): May 30, 2026
  • North Central (5 & 6): August 9, 2026
  • West (Zones 8, 9 & 10): August 23, 2026

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • U.S. resident
  • Submit an application and the application fee prior to your zone’s deadline
  • Current Active USEF and USHJA Junior or Amateur member in good standing

Applications do not indicate a commitment to attend but allow a rider's points to count toward qualifying.

Application Fee

  •  January 1 – 45 days prior to Day One of each Zone Jumper Team Championship: Non-refundable fee of $75 per horse, $25 for each additional horse

  •  44 days to 24 hours prior to horse inspection of each championship: Non-refundable Late-Application fee of $150 per horse, $25 for each additional horse
