Markel/USHJA Platinum Jumper Championships: Apply
Designed for athletes competing successfully in the 1.30/1.35m or 1.40/1.45m Jumpers, athlete/horse combinations qualify for the Markel/USHJA Platinum Jumper Championships by earning a minimum of $250 and completing an application at least 45 days before their zone’s Championships. The Championships are restricted to those athlete/horse combinations that have not competed in an Open High Performance Standard Grand Prix in the current competition year (JP123.4d).
Athlete/horse combinations earn a position on a team of three to four riders composed of professionals, juniors and amateurs. Qualifying periods vary by zone championship, beginning the Monday after the previous year’s championship, and ending 45 days prior to the current year’s championship.
Application Deadlines by Zone:
- Northeast (Zones 1 & 2): Qualifying Ends: May 17, 2026
- South (Zones 3, 4, & 7): Qualifying Ends: May 30, 2026
- North Central (Zone 5 & 6): Qualifying Ends: August 9, 2026

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- U.S. resident
- Submit an application and the application fee prior to your zone’s deadline
- Current Active USEF and USHJA Professional, Junior or Amateur member in good standing

January 1 - 45 days prior to Day One of each Zone Jumper Team Championship: Non-refundable fee of $75 per horse, $25 for each additional horse

44 days to 24 hours prior to horse inspection of each championship: Non-refundable Late-Application fee of $150 per horse, $25 for each additional horse
