We’re currently looking for an experienced, certified hunter / jumper instructor to teach beginners through intermediate riders, instilling a strong foundation of the basics. The position is 40+ hours a week, competitive salary, and includes medical and dental insurance after a 60-day probationary period. It’s a plus if you have experience with children with special needs, as our sports program supports our therapeutic riding program. We all wear a ton of hats, so the ability to jump in and do stalls, feed horses, drive the tractor, etc may be a part of your day during down time between lessons. Lesson Barn Attendant

Lesson barn attendants will assist instructors during afternoon hours with helping students groom and tack lesson horses, maintaining clean tack and laundry for lesson program, grooming and tacking for instructor/rider training rides, and upkeep of care of lesson horses. Some riding may be available. Hours are 4pm-7pm, with some variation and weekend hours available. Candidates must be 14 years of age with work permits.

Rider/Instructor

Riding Instructors are responsible for teaching lessons to students of the riding school as well as boarders.  Additionally they are responsible for running and supervising camps and assisting when necessary at horse shows.  Instructors will also perform and assist with services for hotel guests, such as Tiny Tykes, trail rides, pony rides, and other duties as assigned by the Stables Manager.  Instructors will provide care for lesson horses such as medical care, blanketing, fay/feeding, etc. as needed.  Riders are charged with exercising/training both client and school horses under saddle, on the lunge, and with ground manners.  

Candidates should have basic riding and showing experience in hunter, jumper or equitation disciplines at minimum.  Candidates should be capable of jumping 2' or higher.  Position is full-time and requires most hours spent outdoors.  Candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds and spend most hours standing, walking, or riding.  Pay consists of a base salary with commissions on lessons, training, and showing.
