Horseback Riding Instructor/Counselor (Camp Wicosuta)

A horseback riding counselor at Camp Wicosuta holds a dual role both within the equestrian setting and residential life aspect of Camp Wicosuta. All our horseback staff assist in the planning of horseback instruction and various activities within the barn. This individual works with campers between the ages of 7 and 15 with various English style riding abilities and skills (all lessons are taught 1:1). Horseback riding counselors ensure that activities are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. Horseback counselors assist in the management of the barn’s facilities/equipment. In addition, all counselors live in a cabin of a specific age group, housing approximately 6-12 campers and 2-4 staff members. As a cabin counselor, staff care for a group of campers in a residential life setting, managing the well-being of campers and helping to manage daily routines.
