Listen in as the Young Jumper Task Force discusses plans for the upcoming year. The purpose of the Young Jumper Task Force is to develop opportunities for further progression, participation and retention in our sport while addressing the need to retain a fair and level playing field in this competitive section.

The Affiliate Council is composed of representation from affiliate organization members from each Zone, plus a representative from scholastic equestrian riding formats. If you are member of a state or regional hunter jumper association, please attend this forum to engage with other association representatives and discuss how to strengthen the Hunter Jumper community.

The Young Hunter Ad Hoc was created to develop a long range vision for growing and developing the Young Hunter division and promoting the American-Bred Hunter. Listen in as the Ad Hoc discusses the exciting new rule changes for 2021 and plans to expand the Young Hunter divisions throughout our sport from grassroots through Premier level.

Listen in as the USHJA Jumper Working Group meets to discuss proposed rule changes and other topics related to the advancement of Jumper programming for 2021. The purpose of the Jumper Working Group is to address specific matters within the sport of Jumpers and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Jumper Working Group strives to create the framework for an athlete pipeline that provides programs, communication, awards and education for our jumper constituency from its base to the pinnacle of high performance.

The purpose of the NAYC/PDS Task Force is to consider any policies or programs within their respective areas of expertise and make recommendations to the Jumper Working Group.
11:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.USHJA Rule Change Forum
Listen in, ask questions and discuss the rule change proposals which have been put forward by Members, USHJA Committees and leadership, and USEF. You won’t want to miss this session and hear firsthand the proposals and debates surrounding the most important matters in our sport.
3:00 - 3:45 p.m.USHJA Hunter Working Group
Listen in as the USHJA Hunter Working Group meets to discuss proposed rule changes and other topics related to the advancement of Hunter programming for 2021. The purpose of the Hunter Working Group is to consider any Hunter related policies or programs and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Listen in as the USHJA Board of Directors convenes for the first of several meetings held during the USHJA Annual Meeting. In addition to conducting normal business, the election for the USHJA National Vice President seat and four USHJA Director At-large seats will be held at the beginning of this meeting.

Tuesday, December 8

10:00 - 10:45 a.m.USHJA Pony Task Force Meeting
Listen in as the USHJA Pony Task Force discusses rule changes and upcoming events in 2021. The purpose of the Pony Task Force is to evaluate the pony hunter rules and programming and promote participation in pony divisions nationwide. The Task Force also provides input into the production of the U.S. Pony Finals Clinics.

Listen in as the USHJA Jumper Working Group meets to discuss proposed rule changes. The Young Hunter Pony Task Force evolved to provide guidance for the Young Hunter Pony Championships, develop opportunities for young ponies and pony breeders throughout the United States, and create a pipeline for breeders and trainers to develop their young ponies into talented contenders for Pony Finals. Join in for discussion regarding the 2022 Young Hunter Pony Championship, any proposed rule changes and issues pertaining to young ponies.

The purpose of the Hunter Breeding Task Force is to provide a voice to members involved in breeding of Hunters and to promote and grow the sport to current and new members through education and facilitate the National Hunter Breeding Championships.
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.USHJA Joint Hunter and Jumper Working Group Meeting
Listen in as the USHJA Hunter and Jumper Working Groups come together for a final discussion on proposed rule changes.
1:00 - 1:45 p.m.USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge-Adults Committee
The purpose of the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Program Committee is to identify and recognize adult members with exceptional horsemanship knowledge and skills through qualifying tests and a Nationals event. You won’t want to miss this discussion on the USHJA Adult Horsemanship Quiz Challenge as it moves into its second year!

The purpose of the Joint owners Task Force is to provide a voice to horse owners in the sport and promote owner awareness in competition, training and horse transactions through education.

The purpose of the Joint Equitation Task Force is to evaluate the Equitation rules as the sport evolves and promote participation in the Equitation divisions and related programs. Send questions for the Task Force to education@ushja.org by Saturday, November 28.
5:00 - 5:45 p.m.USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider Task Force Meeting
The purpose of the World Championship Hunter Rider Task Force is to facilitate the mission of the program, which is to recognize and celebrate the Hunter rider through national and regional award recognition and provide quality competitions from pony riders to professionals. The Task Force also serves as a voice for the WCHR membership.

Thursday, December 10

10:00 - 10:45 a.m.USHJA Children/Adult Amateur Task Force Meeting (TENTATIVE)
The purpose of the Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter Task Force is to create, promote and support programs for members who participate in the Children’s and Adult Amateur Hunter section.
11:00 - 11:45 a.m.USHJA Competition Standards Committee Meeting
The purpose of the Competition Standards Committee is to identify, develop and maintain the standards for hunter/jumper competitions as required by the USEF.
12:00 - 12:45 p.m.USHJA Officials Education Committee Meeting
The purpose of the Officials Education Committee is to evaluate every aspect of the education program for hunter/jumper licensed officials and making recommendations for the improvement, with specific focus on and analysis of each specific area: Hunter, Hunter/Jumper, Jumping Seat Equitation, Hunter Breeding, Hunter Course Designer and Jumper Course Designer. The Committee is also charged with creating, reviewing, revising, updating and standardizing the curriculum for each of the above areas, as well as the provision of clinicians and clinic materials.
1:00 - 1:45 p.m.USHJA Horse and Rider Advocates Committee Meeting
The purpose of the Horse and Rider Advocates Committee is to recommend improvements for the well-being of the horse and rider, work to educate members and facilitation of information to the appropriate committees for consideration.
2:00 - 2:45 p.m.USHJA Foundation Board of Directors Meeting
Listen in as the USHJA Foundation Board of Directors discuss the past year and upcoming initiatives.
3:00 - 3:45 p.m.USHJA Junior Hunter Task Force Meeting
The purpose of the Junior Hunter Task Force is to provide a voice to junior riders, trainers and owners in the sport and promote the continuous growth of the section while monitoring its implementation in competition.
4:00 - 4:45 p.m.USHJA Joint Amateurs Task Force Meeting
The purpose of the Joint Amateurs Task Force is to foster sportsmanship and horsemanship throughout our constituency. The task force is committed to protecting the welfare of our equine partners, promoting the highest standards of ethical competition, providing a voice and a venue for every amateur rider, and preserving the quality of competition at the highest levels of amateur Jumpers and Hunters.

12:00 - 12:45 p.m.USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Committee Meeting
The purpose of the Emerging Athletes Program Committee is to provide opportunities for young riders to advance their horsemanship education and riding skills to become knowledgeable, well-rounded horsemen within the hunter/jumper community. The Emerging Athletes Program is part of the Show Jumping Athlete Pathway.
1:00 - 1:45 p.m.USHJA National Hunter Derby Committee Meeting
The purpose of the National Hunter Derby Task Force is to identify and preserve the core traditions of the sport of show hunters and create new opportunities for National Hunter Derby participants.
2:00 - 2:45 p.m.USHJA Competition Management Committee Meeting
The purpose of the Competition Management Committee is to review and examine existing and proposed rules, guidelines and procedures for the operation of hunter/jumper competitions and make comments and recommended changes for improvement of the hunter/jumper sport. It is imperative that competitions prioritize the safety of horses and riders at competition venues, demand a level playing field, provide fair and impartial sport at all levels, and ensure consistent standards across all competition ratings.
3:00 - 3:45 p.m.USHJA International Hunter Derby and Incentive Task Force Meeting
The purpose of the International Hunter Derby and Incentive Task Force is to promote horsemanship, tradition and horse welfare through competition in the International Hunter Derby and Green Hunter Incentive Programs. The Task Force also plans for the future health of the Green Hunter Incentive Program and provides expert insight into this segment of the industry.
4:00 - 4:45 p.m.USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Committee – Youth Meeting
The purpose of the Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Program Committee is to identify and recognize youth members with exceptional horsemanship knowledge and skills through qualifying tests and a Nationals event. Participation in the HQC program will provide ambitious young horsewomen and men with opportunities to advance their horsemanship education while simultaneously creating a broad based network to connect young equine enthusiasts across the industry.
