USHJA Zone Hunt & Go Team Challenge

The USHJA Zone Hunt & Go Team Challenge offers the unique experience for riders to compete on teams across varying fence heights. This new program implements the roots of the prior Hunter Team Challenge for a re-branded opportunity at the Zone level. Participation in these classes accrues bonus points for the USHJA Zone Horse of the Year standings in the respective sections.

There are no qualifying procedures, but the eligibility/participation requirements listed in the specifications must be met. Riders must enter the USHJA Hunt & Go Team Challenge a minimum of two hours prior to the start of the Team Challenge.

What to Expect

The class will follow a one-round, two-phase Hunt and Go format at each respective height, beginning with a Classic Hunter phase that flows directly into a Handy Hunter phase. After completing the Classic portion, horses and ponies will pass through designated markers to initiate the Handy portion. Riders may not walk or pause between phases.

Teams

Teams will be made up of three to four horse- or pony-and-rider combinations, assigned by random draw. Team formation begins by placing one entry from each section onto each team, ensuring an even distribution across all teams based on the total number of entries.

Formal attire is required. Designated team colors will be assigned to distinguish each group, and riders may wear their team color throughout the Hunt and Go Team Challenge competition.
