Barn Manager (ASM Global)

The Equestrian Center is a unique 75-acre equestrian venue located in the heart of Griffith Park which serves both the public, equine boarders and a variety of equestrian/special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the day to day cleaning and maintenance of the barns.
- Assist with the development of a boarding contract and rates and tracking of use.
- Maintain boarding contracts and stable counts during events.
- Work with Facility Finance Manager for procedures for cash management as related to sales, rentals and monthly boarding fees.
- Manage for the efficient disposal of all waste in compliance with regulations.
- Ability to supervise workers that fulfill daily task in the barn areas.
- Ensure for the health and welfare of all animals thru effective health process for boarders and those coming into the facility for day use or events.
- Set up suppliers for quality hay, bedding as well as distribution channel for all users that meet the financial needs of the facility.
- Develop rules for barn areas to ensure the safety of users.
- Work hand in hand with maintenance staff
- Effectively operate event stabling office when required.
- Maintain boarding records for all horse on site.
- Establish quarantine protocol for any sick animals.
- Establish effective communication with CA livestock Director and comply with all processes related to animals on site and visiting from afar.
- Make sure that all facilities have required postings related to Liability.
- Help to develop a security plan for stable areas.
- Manage the RV sites on property as related to reservations and assignment for use.
- Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience
- Prior experience in equine related position
- Past experience supervising a crew and creating a schedule.
- Ability to connect with and meet the needs of equine owners.
- Ability to use a computer to maintain information regarding barn use in an effective manner that can be relayed to supervisory management with regard to monthly boarding, day use and event use.
- Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field i.e., equine studies, agriculture or similar discipline or 3-5 years of similar experience
- Must be able to communicate in Spanish.
- Valid driver's license, CDL preferred.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
