USHJA In Stride Magazine and On Course Podcast Win American Horse Publication Awards

Lexington, Ky.—Sept. 23, 2021—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association's In Stride magazine and On Course podcast earned three first-place awards from the American Horse Publications Equine Media Awards at the 2021 Equine Media “Back in the Saddle” Conference in Irving, Texas, on September 18.

Written by Michelle Bloch and edited by Tricia Booker, "Biosecurity and the Traveling Show Horse" topped the Association Publication Horse Care Single Article category out of 12 entries. The article, published in the March 2020 issue of In Stride, covered important ways to keep show horses safe while traveling to and at events.

"COVID-19's Life Lessons," also written by Bloch and edited by Booker, was awarded first place in the Association Publication Feature Single Article category, which had a total of 19 entries. Discussing how trainers made the most of their downtime from horse shows during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the article was originally published in the September 2020 issue of In Stride.

"The author showed how the negatives turned into positives for several in the industry. The subjects' situations, stories and outcomes were all different, but still had a common theme of stepping back and taking advantage of the extra time," the judges noted.

Published bimonthly and twice digitally each year, In Stride magazine is the official publication of the USHJA and is a benefit exclusive to USHJA members. The magazine is packed full of useful tips to promote equine health and well-being, educational articles, member spotlight and perspective articles, as well as competition coverage of USHJA events. With an audience of more than 40,000 USHJA members, In Stride reaches a vast group of riders, trainers, owners and more.
