USHJA Presidential Nominations Open April 16

Nominations for National Vice President and Four Director-At-Large Positions Open in May

Lexington, Ky.—Mar. 18, 2020—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association invites members to nominate individuals for the office of President beginning April 16. The USHJA Board of Directors will conduct the presidential election at the scheduled board meeting on September 14, 2020. Nominations will also open later this year for the National Vice President and four Director-At-Large positions.

All USHJA Senior Active or Senior Associate members in good standing are invited to participate in the nomination process. Nominations for the office of President will open April 16 and close May 1. Nominations for the National Vice President and four Director-At-Large positions will open May 15 and close August 14. The timeline for 2020 USHJA elections can be found here.

Elections to the USHJA Board of Directors are voted on by Board members based on input from USHJA membership through the nomination process.

Members may nominate a single individual for multiple positions, and they may nominate themselves for any available position. After careful review of all nominees, the Nominating Committee will conduct interviews and recommend two individuals for each position on the Board of Directors. 

For open Director-At-Large positions, the USHJA is seeking Individuals that meet the following criteria: Competition Management experience, Amateur competitor status, or individuals with non-equestrian business related experience.

The USHJA Board of Directors will vote on the office of President at the September board meeting. The USHJA Board of Directors will vote on the offices for National Vice President and four Directors-At-Large at the 2020 USHJA Annual Meeting, which is scheduled for December 6-10 in Bellevue, Washington.
