USHJA opens 3-foot section in Massachusetts for Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program

South Hadley, Mass. –  June 4, 2018 –  The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association has opened a 3-foot section for up to nine riders at the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Session in Massachusetts. Clinician Karen Healey and Stable Manager Nanci Snyder will lead the five-day session, which includes mounted and unmounted instruction, July 8-12 at Mount Holyoke in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

The 3-foot section will give riders 25 and under an opportunity to experience the benefits of the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program at a 3-foot fence height. At this time no other 3-foot sections are open.

Interested riders must be current USHJA members in good standing and must complete and return the application , $50 application fee and $550 program fee to USHJA. Space is limited and riders who submit the application and associated fees will be admitted to the sessions on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. 

Riders participating in a 3-foot section will have full access to all of the educational sessions during the regional training session but are not eligible for the National Training Session.

During the intensive five-day Regional Training Sessions, riders have the opportunity to work with top riding clinicians and some of the country's leading stable managers, where instruction focuses on flatwork, gymnastics, related distances and course work, as well as an intensive stable-management curriculum that incorporates proper care and grooming, horsemanship skills, and barn management. Riders provide their own horses for the Regional Training Session and are expected to provide all necessary care themselves. 

Riders are responsible for coordinating stall reservations, bedding, hay, feed, etc., and associated fees with the host facility. Stall fees are separate from the EAP Regional Training Session fee and are to be paid directly to the Regional Host Facility.
