USHJA Feed Aid Receives More Than $18,500 in Donations

Purina Animal Nutrition Joins as USHJA Feed Aid Partner

Lexington, Ky.—May 29, 2020—One week after launching the USHJA Feed Aid initiative, the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce that incoming donations have topped more than $18,500. USHJA Feed Aid provides aid in purchasing feed for lesson horses as short-term relief for the businesses in the hunter/jumper community who provide lessons to non-boarders and may be suffering financially due to the impact of COVID-19.

For this initiative, the USHJA has partnered with various national and regional feed companies to provide members with relief through discounted and fully supplemented feed purchases and is also pleased to welcome Purina Animal Nutrition, joining Buckeye Nutrition, Cavalor, Legends, Nutrena and ProElite as feed partners.

"We knew there was a need for this aid and we are so excited to see members in our community rally to help each other in this unprecedented time," said Mary Babick, USHJA president. "We also extend gratitude and thanks to our feed partners for their support and partnership in this relief initiative."

The USHJA, through its Foundation, will match donations up to $300,000. Individuals can also donate to help fellow equestrians in need due to financial hardships as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To receive aid, members must apply by June 1. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Feed vouchers will be made available to qualifying applicants as quickly as possible.

The USHJA thanks Buckeye NutritionCavalorLegendsNutrenaProElite and Purina Animal Nutrition for their partnership and support of this initiative. If you are interested in participating as a feed provider, please contact Whitney Allen at wallen@ushja.org.
