USHJA and Horse & Country TV Announce New Partnership Featuring Launch of USHJA TV

Lexington, Ky.—Jun. 16, 2020—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce a new partnership with Horse & Country TV, the leading international equestrian sports network. With the expanded effort, Horse & Country TV will create a new branded USHJA channel environment, USHJA TV, within its existing streaming service. Subscribers will be able to access USHJA TV both online and through Horse & Country TV’s proprietary apps, as well as through third-party services such as Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire.

The partnership is a substantial extension of the pre-existing production-based relationship between USHJA and streaming company EQ Sports Net, which was acquired by Horse & Country TV earlier this year. In addition to an extension of the current production slate, the new agreement incorporates an extensive two-way affiliate marketing partnership, brand and awareness building activity, and a significant expansion in content creation and curation beyond pure sport.

In addition to live streams and sports highlights packages, USHJA TV will feature hunter/jumper content across Horse & Country TV’s core genres of Training & Learning, Entertainment and Documentary. Both Horse & Country TV and USHJA will contribute material to USHJA TV, ensuring the widest possible mix of high quality programming from the outset, which will be regularly refreshed and updated.

Major events that will be live-streamed through the service include:

  • Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship
  • Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships
  • USHJA Gold Star Clinics

Additionally, Horse & Country TV and the USHJA are working to expand live coverage of USHJA-owned properties. It is expected that further events will be added in the near future following discussions with event organizers.

"We are delighted to announce this partnership with the USHJA. We have built our platform specifically to enable far-sighted governing bodies to promote their sport to the widest possible community. Both organisations bring significant membership communities to the partnership and this is a great opportunity to add value to all parties," said Heather Killen, CEO of Horse & Country TV.

USHJA Executive Director Kevin Price said, “We are thrilled with the development of this new relationship and the opportunity to further increase awareness of, and participation in, hunter/jumper competitive sport. This new relationship will enable us to enrich the experience of those already involved in the hunter/jumper community, while at the same time as introducing these wonderful disciplines to new audiences both in the U.S. and worldwide.”

“It is great to see the successful relationship between EQ Sports Net and the USHJA further developed through the launch of this new partner channel. We are excited about expanding the range of hunter and jumper content available to viewers in the US and abroad and look forward to getting back into live production with the USHJA,” said David Qualls, Executive Producer, North America for Horse & Country TV.

USHJA TV launches today with a selection of content from the 2020 Gold Star Clinics and 2019 USHJA Championships, as well as masterclasses from Laura Kraut, Georgina Bloomberg and other top riders and highlights from dozens of international jumping classes. The live events portion of the channel is expected to kick off in August with the forthcoming USHJA Championship week.
