Lexington, Ky.—June 1, 2026—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce the opening of the member nomination period for the 2026 USHJA Board of Directors election. Senior Active members in good standing are invited to participate in the nomination process for the National Officer position of Secretary/Treasurer and four Director At-Large seats. The nomination period opens June 1 and closes June 30 at 5 p.m. ET.
As a member-driven organization, the USHJA relies on the leadership, expertise, and involvement of dedicated volunteers. Through the nomination process, members play a vital role in identifying candidates who will help shape the direction of the Association. Elections to the USHJA Board of Directors are voted on by Board members based on input from USHJA membership through the nomination process.
Any Senior Active/Competing USHJA member in good standing may be nominated, and members may also nominate themselves for consideration. Prior governance experience is preferred, but not required. The USHJA Board of Directors strives to maintain a balanced composition of leaders with diverse professional expertise, alongside individuals with strong Hunter/Jumper discipline knowledge and experience.
Following the close of nominations on June 30, nominees will receive a questionnaire and the Nominating Committee will conduct candidate interviews. The final slate of candidates, as prepared by the Nominating Committee, will be released in November, ahead of the election during the final 2026 Board of Directors meeting in December.
