Member Comment Period Opens for Rule Change Proposals for 2027 Competition Year

Lexington, Ky.—Oct. 1, 2025—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association invites members to comment on Rule Change Proposals under consideration for the 2027 competition year. Member input plays a vital role in the rule change process, and once signed into their USHJA member account, members may provide comments on the proposals online here through October 31.

An online Town Hall discussion with USHJA President Britt McCormick will be held on Monday, October 27 at 6:00 p.m. ET. The session will review the latest proposals and provide members with an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback. All members are encouraged to attend by registering here.

In addition to member input, USHJA committees and task forces also review the proposals and suggest revisions. All amendments to the proposals are incorporated into drafts that will be presented during the 2025 USHJA Annual Meeting, December 8–11, at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, Florida. The Meeting will include a Rule Change Proposal Forum where attendees may share additional feedback for the Hunter and Jumper Working Groups to consider.

At the conclusion of the USHJA Annual Meeting, the USHJA Board of Directors will vote to approve or disapprove each proposed change after reviewing recommendations from members, committees, task forces, and Working Groups. The Board's decisions are then submitted to US Equestrian.

All rule changes remain proposals until the US Equestrian Board of Directors votes to approve, disapprove, or defer each one at their 2026 mid-year meeting. This vote is the final step in the annual rule change process. The current US Equestrian Rulebook and information about all US Equestrian Rule Change Proposals can be found here.
