Hunter and Equitation Champions Shine at 2021 Marshall & Sterling Insurance/USHJA National Championships

Las Vegas, Nev.—Nov. 21, 2021—Saturday was another full day of exciting competition at the Marshall & Sterling Insurance/USHJA National Championships at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, adding more division champions, high point awards and trophy winners to the mix.

USHJA Amateur Owner Hunter 3'3" 18-35 Championship

Anna Fogarty, of Rancho Santa Fe, California, was Champion aboard Cinnamon Twist. The duo won the $500 A/O Hunter 3'3" Handy and were second in the $1,000 A/O Hunter 18-35 3'3" Stake and $2,500 A/O Hunter 3'3" Classic. Morgan Beyler, of Rancho Santa Fe, California, was Reserve Champion riding Kuala Lumpur after winning the Classic.

USHJA Amateur Owner Hunter 3'3" 36 and Over Championship

Kassy Perry, of Elk Grove, California, earned the tricolor aboard Samba K. Kim Hall, of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, taking Reserve aboard Lost Emerald. Perry won both the $500 A/O Hunter 3'3" Welcome and $500 A/O Hunter 3'3" Under Saddle with Hall winning the $500 A/O Hunter 3'3" Handy. Perry was also recognized as the Grand Amateur Owner 3'3" Champion, receiving The Soon To Be Grand Amateur Owner 3'3" Champion Perpetual Trophy, sponsored by the Smith Family.

USHJA Amateur Owner Hunter 3'6" 18-35 Championship

Lindsey Schiefelbein, of Coto de Caza, California, and Prestige were Champions. The pair won the $500 A/O Hunter 3/6" Handy, $500 A/O Hunter 3'6" Welcome and Schiefelbein was named Grand Amateur Owner 3'6" Champion, receiving The Antwerp Grand Amateur Owner 3'6" Champion Perpetual Trophy, sponsored by the Meadows Family. Emma Townsend, of Car Michael, California, was the Reserve Champion riding Fanciful. They were first place in the $1,000 A/O Hunter 3'6" Stake and $500 A/O Hunter 3'6" Under Saddle. Townsend was named the High Score Amateur Owner Rider with her score of 86. 

USHJA Amateur Owner Hunter 3'6" 36 and Over Championship

Jaimie Krupnick, of Westlake Village, California, earned the Champion title aboard Conux after winning the $500 A/O Hunter Welcome, $1,000 A/O Hunter 3'6" Stake and the $2,500 A/O Hunter 3'6" Classic. Teresa Mann was Reserve Champion riding Fabulous. The duo won the $500 A/O 3'6" Handy.

USHJA Equitation 14 and Under Championship

It was Greenley Achuck, of Tiburon, California, who earned the Champion title riding Mighty Quen after winning the Over Fences and Flat class. Achuck also received the Equitation 14 and Under Leading Rider Perpetual Trophy, donated by Showplace Productions and Patrick and Nicole Boyle. Paige Walkenbach, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, was Reserve Champion aboard Constantinos.

USHJA Equitation 15-17 Championship

Elisa Broz, of Freedom, California, took the tricolor aboard Clooney 62. The duo won two of the Over Fences classes, and Broz earned the Equitation 15-17 Leading Rider Perpetual Trophy, donated by Showplace Productions and Patrick and Nicole Boyle. Skylar Wireman, of Bonsall, California, also topped two classes in the division aboard Hot Pants to take Reserve Champion honors.

USHJA Equitation 18 and Over Championship

Krupnick and Conux were also Champions of the Equitation 18 and Over division, earning the win in two of the Over Fences classes. Krupnick was named the Equitation 18 and Over Leading Rider. Grace Pearson, of Seattle, Washington, took the Reserve Champion title on Duck Duck Goose.

USHJA 3'3" Hunter Seat Medal

Winning the USHJA 3'3" Hunter Seat Medal and receiving the Perpetual Trophy, donated by Ledges Sporting Horses and Clay and Donna Struve, was Walkenbach on Quadro D'ag. In second was Madilynn Lo Porto, of Danville, California, on Alatan.

Updated results from Friday's competition: Champion of the USEF/USHJA 1.10/1.15m Adult Amateur Jumper National Championship was Brenna McGovern, of San Luis Obispo, California, on her own Grey Goose. McGovern also took home the 1.10/1.15m Adult Amateur Leading Owner Award and her trainer, Stephen Pellett, was 1.10/1.15m Adult Amateur Leading Trainer. Katie Brouillet, of St. Anne, Illinois, was Reserve Champion riding Jet Setter.

In the USEF/USHJA 1.20/1.25m Junior Jumper National Championship, Reserve Champion went to Skylar Wireman, of Bonsall, California, and King's Ruby.

The free educational sessions wrapped up today with the Grand Prix Course Walk. The USHJA thanks everyone who presented and participated in sessions throughout the week.
