Gochman Family and USHJA Continue Partnership to Support Pony Hunter Riders

Lexington, Ky.—Dec. 17, 2025—The U.S. Hunter Jumper Association is pleased to announce thumbnail_6D47E0A7-38CC-4594-8CB1-BD9DF3A5359A-1the renewal of the Gochman Grant for USEF Pony Finals for an additional three years through 2028. This impactful program offers three young pony riders the opportunity to attend and compete at USEF Pony Finals in the Hunter divisions, regardless of their financial means.

"We are grateful for the Gochman Family’s continued partnership. Together, we are creating meaningful opportunities for young riders to learn, compete, and develop lifelong skills that extend far beyond the show ring," said USHJA Executive Director Whitney Allen.

Unlike traditional funding opportunities, the Gochman Grant is designed as an immersive, experience-based program. In addition to the opportunity to compete at USEF Pony Finals, each selected rider receives access to professional training, participation in available clinics, and exposure to a variety of educational opportunities throughout the week. Applications for the 2026 grant cycle will open on January 1 and close on March 15.

“The equestrian community has meant a great deal to our family, and we greatly believe in the power of that community,” said the Gochman Family. “We are proud to extend the Gochman Grant as we are pleased with the results, the bonds formed between ponies and young riders, and the educational aspect to our sport.”

The Gochman Grant is open to current USHJA members under the age of 18 who have not previously participated in Pony Finals and who would not be able to attend without the assistance the grant provides. Individuals may only be awarded the grant once.
