USHJA Puissance Challenge Fundraiser

Intent to Participate

The USHJA Puissance Challenge Fundraiser is a friendly barn challenge that puts jumping skills to the test while raising money for the USHJA Foundation.

A puissance is similar to the equestrian high jump competition. In a puissance challenge, a single jump is used for all participants. After each participant takes their turn, the jump is then raised to add height for the next round. The jump can start as a single pole on the ground so even the youngest riders can participate in this fun event. The pole continues to be raised to see how high a participant can jump. The puissance challenge is open to all levels of riders and is meant to be a fun competition for the barn. Doesn’t that sound like fun?!

Start by submitting the below Intent to Participate Form on behalf of your barn, which includes your information and barn fundraising goal.

Then, host your event! Designate the one jump that will be used as the Puissance jump. Riders compete in a set order for the duration of the event. Begin with a ground pole, and after the last rider clears the obstacle, move the jump up to the next height. A rider is excused when they have a rail, have a refusal or elect not to continue. The last rider to clear the obstacle at the largest height wins! Be sure to record each participant's name and their money earned to submit with your barn results.

Once your Puissance Challenge has concluded and all funds have been collected, mail your barn's results, including each participant's name and their money earned, to us along with a check. Funds raised must be submitted via check to the USHJA Foundation, 3870 Cigar Lane, Lexington, KY 40511.
