If a Provisional or Certified Trainer’s certification lapses for one of the following reasons, he may request to have it reinstated.
- If a Certified Trainer is temporarily not teaching/training as a professional hunter/jumper trainer and if he allows his professional/general liability insurance to lapse, his certification may lapse for the period of one year. During this time, the trainer will be removed from the Certified Trainers Directory. He may apply to the TCP Committee for reinstatement before the one-year deadline, at which time the committee will review the circumstances and make a determination of the reinstatement. The trainer will need to reapply to the program if the lapse of teaching/training is longer than one year.
- If the trainer's Active or Collegiate Coach Membership is not renewed by its anniversary date, his certification will be at risk of revocation as all Certified and Provisional Trainers are responsible for maintaining their USHJA Active or Collegiate Coach Membership annually. Should a trainer's membership not be renewed, the trainer will forfeit his certification and will be removed from the USHJA Certified Trainers Directory. If a Trainer’s membership lapses, he will have one year from the expiration of his membership to renew this membership and apply to the TCP Committee for reinstatement. The committee will review the circumstances and make a determination of the reinstatement. The trainer will need to reapply to the program if the membership lapses longer than one year.
- Certified Trainers are required to renew their certification every five years. All Renewal requirements must be completed and submitted by the end of the fifth competition year from the date of certification. The trainer may apply to the TCP Committee for reinstatement within the year following the renewal year. The trainer will need to reapply to the program if the lapse in renewal is longer than one year. Please visit Trainer Certification Renewal for information on requirements.
