Thirty-Two Athletes Attending EAP Regional Training Sessions in New Jersey and California This Week

Featuring Clinicians Karen Healey, Nanci Snyder, Jim Wofford and Anne Thornbury

Lexington, Ky.—June 24, 2019—Thirty-two athletes are set to participate in Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program Regional Training Sessions in New Jersey and California this week.

The session at Centenary University in Long Valley, New Jersey, is June 24-28 with clinicians Karen Healey and Nanci Snyder leading the session. The session at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, California, runs June 26-30, featuring clinicians Jim Wofford and Anne Thornbury.

Both sessions include 3' sections where riders are able to participate in all aspects of the program at a lower fence height.

Sessions are held over five days with athletes participating in mounted flatwork, gymnastics exercises and coursework as well as intensive stable management lessons. Athletes also spend time auditing each other and hearing from guest speakers at the sessions. 

Auditing is available to the public free of charge for the riding portions at both sessions.

There will be four other Regional Training Sessions held across the country this year in California, Illinois, North Carolina and Massachusetts. A full calendar of sessions with auditing information can be found here

Following the Regional Training Sessions, 16 of the Regional Training Session participants and a select number of stable managers will be invited to attend the National Training Session November 7-10 at University of Findlay. Riders participating in the 3' section are not eligible to participate in the National Training Session.
