USHJA Program Support - Emerging Athletes Program

USHJA PROGRAM SUPPORT

The USHJA Foundation contributes funds to supplement select USHJA programs as well as grants and scholarships awarded by the USHJA zones. When we work together, the zones are able to award more substantial grants to their members for programs such as Emerging Athletes, Tranier Certification, and other zone-specific programs offered.

We are proud to support the following USHJA programs:

Horsemanship Quiz Challenge (HQC) Nationals Grant
The HQC encourages education and recognizes young equestrians who have exceptional horsemanship knowledge. Participants take two levels of online horsemanship quizzes, which consist of multiple-choice and true/false questions to qualify for the HQC nationals, which is an in-person competition that includes a written test and a hands-on practicum component.

Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program (EAP)
The EAP was created to provide opportunities for young riders to advance their education in their pursuit to become knowledgeable horsemen within the hunter/jumper industry. During the five-day Regional Training Sessions, riders have the opportunity to work with top riding clinicians and some of the country’s leading stable managers, where instruction focuses on flatwork, gymnastics, related distances and coursework as well as an intensive stable management curriculum that incorporates proper care and grooming, horsemanship skills, and barn management.

Trainer Certification Program (TCP) Grant
The USHJA Trainer Certification Program was developed to preserve the American Hunter/Jumper Forward Riding System by offering a comprehensive educational program for professional horse trainers. Becoming a Certified Trainer confirms a commitment to continuing professional development, which leads to an ever-increasing group of well-rounded and knowledgeable horsemen.
