The premier Hunter Championship in the world, the Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship returns to the Kentucky Horse Park August 17-18. You won't want to miss this FREE event that celebrates the tradition of fox hunting in an exciting, high stakes arena environment with more than $200,000 for the taking!

While the competition takes place over two days, August 18 at 6 p.m. will feature the top competitors from the prior day's competition who will go head-to-head for the full purse. Join us in Rolex Stadium for all the action and to see who will take home the title and top prize money.

What to Expect:
The pinnacle of Hunter competition, this two-round championship offers spectators the opportunity to witness the very best International Hunter Derby competitors compete for more than $200,000 in prize money under the lights at Rolex Stadium.

Completing a course of fences set at heights between 3'6" and 4'9". Dressed in traditional attire, approximately 40 horse-and-rider combinations will demonstrate the art of horsemanship and the natural talent of their horses across a course of obstacles constructed from natural elements, similar to what one would expect to find when fox hunting and set at heights between 3'6" and 4'9".

The competition is judged by a total of six judges, who are organized into three panels. Competitors are judged and numerically scored based on quality, movement, jumping style, manners and way of going, while pace and brilliance are rewarded. Each panel will provide one score based on an initial 100-point scale but the opportunity of up to 10 bonus points for handiness and one bonus point per high-option jump completed. The three panels' scores are added together to determine their total and final placing.

There is no admission fee.

Parking Fee:
$5 per car.

Casual attire, and comfortable shoes are recommended.

The USHJA Merchandise Booth will be open on Friday, August 17, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Saturday, August 18, 3:30 - 8 p.m.

Please note that spectators should be careful about being loud or distracting while horses are on course. However, clapping and celebration after each round is encouraged. Spectators are not permitted in the arena at any time.
