Silent Auction Benefiting the USHJA Foundation
Get your holiday shopping done at the 2018 Annual Meeting Silent Auction and know that the money you spend to supports the hunter/jumper community! The funds raised at the silent auction will help the USHJA Foundation support an important set of educational, competition, and humanitarian programs designed to strengthen our hunter/jumper community. Items will be on display beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, December 9th, and the auction closes promptly at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 11th. The auction will be located in the Foyer near registration. Lunch with the Zone and Affiliates Forum
Join us from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Bayshore 1 Ballroom for a buffet lunch. Immediately following lunch, we will have keynote speaker Jen Roytz, executive director of the Retired Race Horse Project, followed by a full afternoon of Zone and Affiliate programming. Zone programming will start with a presentation from the USHJA member benefit partner, Affinity Travel. Next, there will be a Zone Panel Discussion led by Mark Aplin, Otis Brown, Troy Hendricks, Kathy Hobstetter, Nancy Jones, and Page Tredennick. Diane Carney will finish off the education speaking about the USHJA Zone Jumper Championships and the Gold Star Clinics. USHJA Zones will then breakout into individual meetings. Private Screening of DESERT FLIGHT
Join us for a private screening with a pre-screening reception of the award winning film DESERT FLIGHT, graciously hosted by the creators of DESERT FLIGHT. Reception will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Bayshore 6 & 7 Ballrooms. A love letter to the sport of show jumping, DESERT FLIGHT is a documentary short film that explores the unique relationship with the horse and why people dedicate so much to the equestrian life. Filmmaker and show jumper Samia Staehle’s goal was to capture the visceral way in which horses enrich our lives and heighten our senses. The film showcases the amazing kind of people that horses always seem to attract: individuals of enormous character, possessed of infinite work ethic, and often a very sharp sense of humor.
USHJA Rule Change Proposal Session
Get the latest information about all proposed rule changes during in-depth sessions presented by Mary Babick and Mike Lowry with support from committee and task force chairs.
All current rule change proposals will be available online throughout the meeting at ushja.org/rulechanges. Located in the Bayshore 2-4 Ballrooms.
Working Group Meetings
After reviewing the rule changes join the USHJA Hunter Working Group from 10:30 a.m. until noon and the USHJA Jumper Working Group from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Bayshore 6-7 Ballrooms. During these workshops each committee will make changes and recommendations to rule change proposals that have been referred to USHJA. Suggestions from the general forum, member feedback and committee responses will be taken into consideration.
Monday’s luncheon is generously sponsored by Equestrian Athlete Training Camps. Lunch will be held from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. in the Bayshore 1 Ballroom. From 12:45 to 1:00 p.m. stick around to learn more from Daniel Stewart about these unique camps.
Young Hunter Round Table
Join Carl Weeden for an open discussion to evaluate the Young Hunter section and ensure that it is serving its intended purpose to the fullest extent possible.
End the day with the beautiful view at Jackson’s Bistro. Just a quick bus ride away join us to celebrate the 2018 Annual Meeting presented by The World Equestrian Center. Food and drinks will be provided. Shuttles will leave every 10 minutes from the lobby doors located next to the hotel bar.
Town Hall with Mary Babick & State of the Association
Immediately following breakfast, sponsored by Visit Sarasota & Fox Lea Farm there will be a general forum meeting with Mary Babick held in the Bayshore 2 – 4 Ballrooms. This session will address the State of the Association: Past, Present and Future of the USHJA. Followed by an open Town Hall and concluding with a USEF presentation about the Safe Sport initiative.
Return to the Bayshore 1 Ballroom from noon to 1 p.m. to enjoy a buffet lunch sponsored by Hodges Badge Company. Hodges Badge Company, the official ribbon supplier of the USHJA, will be displayed in the Foyer. We encourage you to stop by and take a look at some of their beautiful awards.

Evening of Equestrians
USHJA’s premier awards ceremony the Evening of Equestrians will begin at 6:45 p.m. The evening will feature a formal sit-down dinner and presentations honoring some of the most influential equestrians in our industry.
USHJA will recognize the USHJA Nominee for the USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award and recipients of the USHJA Youth Leadership Award, Dash for Cash Award, Mrs. A.C. Randolph Owner’s Legacy Award, Vital Horse Show Staff Award, Amateur Sportsmanship Award, Jane Marshall Dillon Award, President’s Distinguished Service Awards, Volunteer of Year Award and culminate with the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Due to limited space for the Evening of Equestrian Dinner, ticket sales will close on Monday, December 10th, at 5 p.m.
