The USHJA Affiliates are the largest of all USHJA
constituents and are vital to ensuring the success of
the USHJA.
The mission of the Affiliates Council is to recognize and support the quality educational and
competitive programs already established by USHJA Affiliate Organizations; to develop projects that
bridge the opportunities these organizations provide at the local and state level to a national level;
and to develop cohesion among the various tiers of the hunter and jumper industry for the benefit of our sport.

The affiliates constituency is divided into four
regional Affiliates Councils whose chairs serve as
the Affiliates Committee. The Regional Affiliates
Councils are geographically divided into the Northeast,
Southeast, Central and Western regions, representing the
entire United States.
Every active USHJA Affiliate Association appoints one
representative to participate on their prospective Regional
Council. The USHJA Affiliates Committee comprises of eight
members, the chair and vice chair for each of the Regional
Affiliates Councils. The committee meets regularly throughout the year to
facilitate and assist the Affiliates Councils in their efforts
to recognize, support and develop quality educational and
competitive programs.
USHJA Affiliate membership ensures an association the
opportunity to make a difference in the sport by actively
participating in and making recommendations on a wide range
of issues, from competition standards and horse welfare concerns
to rule changes and continuing education. Active USHJA Affiliate
Associations also gain the opportunity to participate, at no additional cost, in
USHJA-sponsored award programs, including the USHJA Affiliate Equitation and
Affiliate Sportsmanship Awards.
USHJA Outreach Competitions fall under the jurisdiction of
USHJA Affiliates. USHJA Outreach Competitions are open to all organizations,
regardless of their current USHJA Affiliate member status. Affiliate member
assocations are instrumental in the continuing development and implementation of
current and new programs.
