2013 WCHR Palm Beach Event Expected to be Spectacular

January 30, 2013, Lexington, KY- The USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider-Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular will begin February 20, during week seven of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Debuting in 1997, the Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular has grown into one of the premiere show weeks of the WCHR program and now carries the name of one of its most devoted supporters, Peter Wetherill.

Created to be an extravagant celebration of the hunter horse, the Spectacular has become a distinct part of the Member Event Series for the WCHR program. Throughout this week, the very best in show hunters compete for prestigious awards and top spots in hunter classics, including a chance to qualify for the spotlight event, the Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular. This event brings professional, junior and amateur riders together to vie for the coveted title of the 2013 USHJA WCHR-Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular Champion and will be held Saturday evening, February 23, under the lights of the International Arena.

In addition to providing an evening packed with top-notch competition, the 2013 WCHR-Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular includes the following hospitality opportunity for your enjoyment:
  • Start your evening at 5:30 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
  • Raise your hand for a good cause and support the USHJA Foundation by participating in the live Calcutta at 6:30 pm
  • Don’t miss a single round of the exciting class from comfortable front and second-row ringside tables for six in the International Club
  • Enjoy dinner and drinks while you watch the class under the lights starting at 7:00 pm

Proceeds from the event benefit the USHJA Foundation, which supports programs such as the Horseman’s Assistance Fund. The USHJA Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization and your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

About the WCHR:
The USHJA World Championship Hunter Rider Program was founded in 1995 to recognize and celebrate the hunter rider. Since the inaugural WCHR Professional Finals, the WCHR program has expanded to include coveted year-end awards for Professionals, Developing Professionals, Amateur Owners, Adult Amateurs, Juniors, Children’s and Pony riders. WCHR program members qualify for National and Regional Awards by earning points at Member Events held across the country throughout the qualifying year. Points from a rider’s top four WCHR Member Events will be used to determine the National and Regional standings. Each year the top ten nationally ranked riders and top six regionally ranked riders in each category, come together to compete in the WCHR Finals at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD. The 2013 Capital Challenge Horse show will be held September 30 – October 6, 2013.

Membership to the WCHR:
