Double H Farm’s Invitational Training Session Raises Over $10,000

September 28, 2010

LEXINGTON, KY – (September 23, 2010) – The Harrison Family’s and Double H Farm’s 1st Annual Invitational Training Session, held August 27-28, 2010 in Ridgefield, Connecticut, helped raise over $10,000 for the United States Hunter Jumper Association’s “Building For Growth” Capital Campaign.

Designed as a ’prep’ for The Hampton Classic, the Invitational Training Session was developed by Double H Farm’s Cayce Harrison. Ms. Harrison, the newest member of the “Building For Growth” Capital Campaign Committee, along with her parents Jeanne and Hunter Harrison, graciously opened Double H Farm’s Grand Prix Field to the public for the first time since being built. Individual schooling sessions, over a full grand prix and natural obstacle course, were scheduled over a two-day period.

Approximately 60 participants donated $150 per session to the “Building For Growth” Capital Campaign; a Campaign dedicated to raising the necessary funds to support the endowment of USHJA’s new headquarters at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.

“After seeing the incredible new home that the USHJA has built for everyone involved in the Hunter/Jumper sport, our family decided to take an active role in fundraising for the USHJA’s new headquarters,” stated Cayce Harrison. “Our family’s mission in hosting this special event is to share our passion, drive and commitment for our sport and spread the word on the importance of supporting the USHJA.”

Rave reviews on the experience and ability to train on a world-class grand prix venue were heard throughout the equestrian community. “The Harrisons and the Double H Farm team put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and energy into this event,” stated Nicole Lakin, a participant from Stonehenge Stables. “The experience was fantastic! Between the hospitality, inviting courses, and incredible footing – while supporting the USHJA -- everyone was well prepared for The Hampton Classic.”

Due to the success of the inaugural Invitational Training Session, Double H Farm will continue to offer utilization of Double H Farm’s Grand Prix Field, on an individual basis and for the benefit of the “Building For Growth” Capital Campaign. Interested USHJA members should contact DoubleHFarm@gmail.com for more information and scheduling.
