HRTV & Equestrian Life to Air Over 100 hours of Original Equestrian Programming

May 12, 2010

Arcadia, CA, May 12, 2010 - HRTV (R) and Equestrian Life have announced an association that will annually provide HRTV over 100 hours of exclusive programming centered on “the horse.” As a true multiplatform network, HRTV will air this original programming on its TV channel, which is simulcast online at its subscription broadband service, HRTVLive.com. HRTV will also package select titles for VOD. Equestrian Life will provide its online membership and visitors access to the programming on EquestrianLife.com

“With the debut of Equestrian Life content in early June, HRTV will add a broader range of equestrian content and a significant number of exclusive programming hours,” said Jim Bates, Executive Vice President and General Manager of HRTV. “The original programming this partnership creates will firmly establish HRTV as the leading ‘horse sports and lifestyle’ platform on TV and online.”

Christopher Swan, SVP Distribution and Business Development added, “This new agreement supports our commitment to provide HRTV distribution partners a unique package of all-equestrian content that will enable them to attract and retain a wide range of passionate equestrian enthusiasts. With over 80 million avid horse fans in the US alone, we are confident this programming will be well received and the demand for HRTV will continue to grow.”

"We are thrilled to be working in association with HRTV to bring top-notch equestrian programming, including television shows about riders, travel, live events, interesting behind the scenes stories, and how to instruction from the leading trainers in the industry. We think horse fans around the world are looking for high quality television shows that speak to their passion for horses and look forward to delivering that to them," said Deana Bergquist, President and Co-Founder of Equestrian Life.

The offerings from Equestrian Life, which are slated to debut on Tuesday, June 1, and continue on successive Tuesdays, will comprise a wide-range of exclusives including "The Mane Event" series, which encompasses competitive action such as the Cactus Reining Classic and the Devon Horse Show.

Select other programming from Equestrian Life includes "A Rider's Story," featuring a number of riding greats such as Steffen Peters, Andrea Fappani, McLain Ward, and Laura Kraut. Other titles include "For the Love of Horses" and "The Masters Series: Versatility Clinic." A complete schedule will be released in the near future.

HRTV first introduced expanded equestrian programming in early February. Initial topics and features have included the World Equestrian Festival from Aachen, Germany, “Monty Roberts Backstage Pass,” the Lynn Palm Training Series, "Horse Talk TV," and training great Al Dunning.
