USHJA and IHSA Team Up To Build Hunter/Jumper Community
The United States Hunter Jumper Association has created a new Collegiate Membership specifically designed for the riders and coaches of hunter seat Intercollegiate Horse Show Association teams. Both the USHJA and IHSA are looking forward to the multi-year agreement that will provide benefits for both organizations.
The USHJA is the national affiliate for hunters and jumpers and has established itself as a leader in the sport for developing programs and resources for its membership. For over 40 years, the IHSA has been providing collegiate riders with the opportunity to compete individually or as teams in equestrian competition. Both national organizations are looking forward to the joint venture and are excited for what the future holds.
“The partnership with IHSA enhances the capabilities of both organizations. Working with the IHSA leadership has been seamless, and that speaks volumes to the great things that are in store as this partnership develops. IHSA coaches and riders represent an important demographic in our industry. We are looking forward to the opportunity to grow our membership, while providing educational opportunities to promising equestrians as they embark on their future," stated USHJA President, Bill Moroney.

2010 USHJA Membership Updates
For the 2010 competition year, USHJA has some new memberships, as well as some changes, to our existing memberships.
USHJA is joining forces with IHSA to increase awareness of the Hunter Jumper sport. To this end, beginning September of 2009, USHJA is offering a Collegiate Membership for IHSA riders, as well as coaches. The competition year for Collegiate memberships will run from September 1 through August 31 and the cost is $15 for riders and $35 for coaches.
Additionally, USHJA is offering a three year Active Membership. The cost for all three years is $150. That is a $15 savings over the term of the membership. The membership will be effective from the date of application through November 30, 2012. Members choosing this option will keep the same membership card for all three years.
In 2010, all membership categories, with the exception of Outreach and Collegiate, will have the same membership card. The membership types will be differentiated on the back of the card, along with the expiration date of the membership.
Membership forms, descriptions of levels and general information can be found on the USHJA website. For additional questions regarding USHJA memberships, please contact Christine Kennedy at email@example.com.
