Equine Junior Apprentice Program – Your Backstage Pass

The Equine Junior Apprentice Program: Your Backstage Pass, presented by Sweetbriar College, is a once in a lifetime opportunity for juniors and collegiate riders under the age of 21 to apprentice with a competition official such as a judge, show manager, show secretary, steward, course designer, vet or farrier. The program grants junior and collegiate riders an opportunity to have a better understanding of the duties and responsibilities of these officials and to determine if they would like to pursue a career in one of these positions.

Groundbreaking Scholarship Program

The USHJA Foundation and participating Zones are joining to initiate a groundbreaking scholarship program. The Foundation has pledged to contribute additional funds to supplement all three types of educational scholarships awarded by zones (College/Trade School, EAP, and TCP).

TCP and EAP Scholarship Deadlines close as soon as July 1st for Zone 6, 7, & 8

The College Scholarships have a deadline of August 15th but do not hesitate to get your application in early.

USHJA Seeks Award Nominations

The USHJA is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Jane Marshall Dillon and The Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was first presented in 2008 to honor members who dedicated their lives to furthering the hunter/jumper discipline on a National platform and whose involvement in the sport and the USHJA has benefited the industry.

The Jane Marshall Dillon award was created in 2010 to recognize the dedication of equestrian teachers within the hunter/jumper discipline who have devoted their lives to instilling the values of horsemanship, integrity, and hard work in their students.
