EAP Level Two Rider Invitations

Invitations for the Emerging Athletes Program Level Two Training Sessions will be extended via email on June 27 – 30, 2011. A list of all Level Two riders will be posted to the EAP website once all riders have accepted their invitations. Last Chance to Qualify for the 2011 Hunterdon Cup

The USHJA/Essex Classics Hunterdon Equitation Cup Classic will be held August 2, 2011 during the East Coast Junior Hunter Finals in Saugerties, NY. The Hunterdon Cup is a unique class that combines the precision of equitation and the handiness of hunters and is open to any rider that is an active USHJA junior member and has won a USEF Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, or WIHS Classic at a competition starting between July 2, 2010 and July 1, 2011. 2012 WCHR Member Event Host Applications Open
July 1st

On July 1, 2011 the USHJA will open the application process for Competition Managements interested in hosting a WCHR Member Event in 2012. Applications close August 15th. Application Packets will be available on the WCHR Managers webpage.

2012 EAP Level One Host Facility Applications Opening
July 1st

Interested in bringing the Emerging Athletes Program to your farm or facility? The 2012 Emerging Athletes Program Level I Host Facility Applications will be available on the EAP website July 1, 2011. For more information about hosting an EAP Training Session, contact Jennifer Kisner at 859.225.6705.

Zone Finals & Championships

In 2011 USHJA introduced a new bid process and point system for Zone Finals and Championship Classes. Zone Finals competition will include two (2) O/F and one (1) U/S class for each section and zone bonus points will be awarded based on the newly revised criteria. Zone Championships are an alternative and optional way for a zone to provide recognition to its members. Zone championship classes can be held as a standalone class or by designating one class in a section of at regular membership competition. Zone bonus points will be awarded. Please visit the Finals and Championships Summary to see the new point structure and specifications.

Scholarship Application Deadlines

The USHJA Foundation and participating Zones are joining to initiate a groundbreaking scholarship program. The Foundation has pledged to contribute additional funds to supplement all three types of educational scholarships awarded by zones (College/Trade School, EAP, and TCP).

TCP and EAP Scholarship Deadlines start as soon as July 1st for Zone 6, 7, 8, & 12

The College Scholarships have a deadline of August 15th but do not hesitate to get your application in early.

USHJA International Hunter Derby 2011 Finals Invitations Mailed!

On June 15, 2011 USHJA sent invitations to compete in the USHJA International Hunter Derby 2011 Finals to the recorded owners of the top 75 horses on the Derby money won list. If your horse is one of those top 75 please look for your invitation to compete in your mail and email. Entries are due July 15th. If a horse is unable to compete, the next available horse on the money won list will be invited to compete.

2011 USHJA Trainer Certification Program Clinics

The USHJA is now offering standard Trainer Certification Program Clinics (TCP Clinics) as well as Trainer's Symposiums. Attendance at a recognized USHJA Trainer Certification Program Clinic will count towards the enrollment requirements for the Trainer Certification Program.

The USHJA Trainers Symposium on September 3-4, 2011 is now being held as a Trainer Certification Program (TCP) Clinic. Julie Winkel is hosting this exciting and educational event at Maplewood Stables in Reno, NV with Jumper clinician Linda Allen and Hunter/Equitation clinician Geoff Teall. Attendees will receive the same educational credit for their Trainer Certification Program application.
