If needed, each zone may offer two USHJA Zone Horse of the Year Finals and two USHJA Stirrup Cup Finals annually, to better serve the geographic distribution of their zone membership.

USHJA Children’s & Adult Amateur Jumper Regional

Are you a Children’s or Adult Amateur Jumper rider who has been hoping for a chance to compete in a Championship?

Over the years there has been on-going discussion among Adult Amateur and Children’s jumper members about having their own championship; USHJA has made that vision a reality in 2013.

In an effort to provide greater participation, more competition and less cost to exhibitors there will be four regions, composed of the USHJA zones as follows:

  • North – Zones 1, 2 and 5
  • South – Zones 3 and 4
  • Central – Zones 6 and 7
  • West – Zones 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12

Applications for Riders are now available!

Competitions will be held for teams and/or individual riders. A team will consist of a minimum of three horse and rider combinations, but not more than four. The number of teams that each state can send to the Championship will be determined by the number of Children’s jumper riders and Adult Amateur jumper riders residing in a state the previous year. As an example, a state with less than 150 Children’s jumper riders will be permitted one team.

For more information and the complete Specifications of the inaugural year for the USHJA Children’s and Adult Amateur Jumper Regional Championships please visit our website or contact Meghan Carney at 859.225.6721.

  Trainer Certification Program Offers
  Educational Options

Trainer Certification Program applicants have two exciting opportunities to fulfill the educational component of their TCP application:

Attend a TCP Clinic: Each TCP Clinic features at least one clinician over multiple days, educating members on teaching skills, using the principles of the American Forward Riding System. Check out the TCP Clinic Calendar for a list of upcoming TCP Clinics throughout the country.

Complete the Online Trainer Certification Course: In response to USHJA member input that the educational requirement for the Trainer Certification Program be more affordable and easily accessible, USHJA partnered with EquestrianCoach.com to offer TCP applicants an online educational option. The cost of the Online Trainer Certification Course is $200, which includes a complimentary 6-month subscription of EquestrianCoach.com. This gives TCP applicants access to Equestrian Coach’s extensive library of videos in addition to the TCP course materials.

Markel Insurance Company is proud to sponsor the TCP, please visit their website to learn more about what they can do for you.

Contact Carrie Vaught at 859.225.6703 for more information about the Trainer Certification Program and these educational components.
