Essex Classics - Raising the Bar of Equestrian Style for a Competitive Edge

Essex Classics is in its sixth consecutive year of supporting two major programs: Title Sponsor of the USHJA Hunterdon Equitation Cup Classic and Award Sponsor of the USHJA International Hunter Derby Series and Championships.

Always an innovator in show shirts, Essex Classics now offers a new collection of high-tech Talent Yarn® shirts. Combining their revolutionary wrap collar with a nanotechnology performance fabric, they have developed a new show shirt that actually reduces your body temperature to keep you feeling cool and refreshed.  Additionally, the Talent Yarn® shirt offers long-lasting UV sun protection and is anti-bacterial and deodorizing.  It is designed with a tapered body fit, under sleeve mesh ventilation panels, and contrasting fabric trim.  Olympic great Anne Kursinski is a believer, "The Talent Yarn shirt is incredibly cool, light, and allows total freedom of movement. I love that it is stylish and athletic at the same time. This is the most comfortable show shirt I have ever worn."

Talent Yarn® shirts are only available in the finest tack shops and equestrian catalogs.

The 2013 USHJA/Essex Classics Hunterdon Equitation Cup Classic is open to any rider that is an Active USHJA junior member and has won a USEF Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search or WIHS Equitation Classic at a competition starting between July 2, 2012, and July 1, 2013.

This year's Essex Classics Hunterdon Cup takes place on July 30 at the HITS facilities in Saugerties, NY during the USEF East Coast Junior Hunter Finals. For more information on the classic contact: Melanie Fransen (859) 225-6705.

Essex Classics wishes all competitors a great season and invites you to visit Essex Classics online to explore all the many classics offered to improve your show day.

Elegance, Power, Heart-The Thoroughbred Show Horse

The USHJA Wheeler Museum's latest exhibit, Elegance, Power, Heart - The Thoroughbred Show Horse opens its doors Monday, April 1, 2012.  The exhibit will run through the end of 2013, and we encourage visitors to the Kentucky Horse Park to stop by the USHJA Headquarters to view the exhibit.

Known for its stamina, power, speed, and agility, the Thoroughbred dominated the world of show jumping for decades. Likewise, the breed's beauty, grace, and elegance proved instrumental in shaping and defining the show ring hunter.

We invite you to explore this exhibit, relive the storied athletes of our past, view some of today's show ring competitors, and share in the special bonds these horses have had with their owners and riders. Few horses exhibit the heart and bravery inherent in the Thoroughbred, and these qualities have resulted in heroic triumphs in international competition, as well as touching personal moments shared only between these horses and their riders and owners.

Revisit yesterday, and celebrate today, as we showcase the elegance, power, and heart that are the Thoroughbred show horse. Museum hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
