Click here USHJA Announces the 2010 SmartPak/USHJA Trainers Symposium Schedule February 16-18, 2010 - HITS Desert Horse Park, Thermal, CA Registration will open for ALL locations January 4th. Clinicians, schedule and local hotel information will be released January 10th. Two additional locations will be announced in March 2010. Sapphire, the 14-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood mare owned by McLain Ward and Bluechip Bloodstock is one of the five finalist for USEF’s Horse of the Year award. EAP National Training Session The inaugural Emerging Athletes Program National Training Session (level 3) will take place January 8-10, 2010 in Reno, NV at Maplewood Stables, Inc. owned by Julie Winkel. The top 12 finalists will spend 3 days focused on displaying their riding, horsemanship and stable management skills. Attention Competition Managers and Secretaries: Please submit the payment of your $2 Zone Fee directly to the USHJA office at 3870 Cigar Lane, Lexington, KY, 40511. Do NOT submit this fee to USEF, with your Post Competition Report. Additionally, please include the competition name and number on the payment, so that staff can ensure payment is applied to the correct competition. The 2009 winners of the Members Choice Awards Program were announced, Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the USHJA Annual Meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida. Lynn Walsh, Chair of the Show Standards Committee, gave a brief overview of the program and announced the winners. Winners were selected in two categories; AA and A rated competitions, as well as B and C rated competitions. Winners will receive a banner, which can be displayed at their competition, in addition to acknowledgement in USHJA publications. Hunter Development Incentive Fund - The USHJA Hunter Development Incentive Fund program is currently offering stallion and horse nominations at a limited-time discounted fee. The HDIF is a points-based system to award financial bonuses to those who breed and show American-born hunters at special member events. In order for horses to be eligible, the horse's stallion must be HDIF nominated. For a limited time, stallions may nominate for previous breeding seasons form from 2005 through 2009; stallion nomination specials include - buy 2 years, get 1 free or buy 3 years, get 2 free. Please see the stallion nomination table on the HDIF website for specific nomination fees. The rate is based on the average number of mares bred in the past number of seasons (2005-2009. When an owner nominates more than one stallion, a 10% discount is taken off the total fee. Please fill out a stallion nomination form and send it to Sterling Berry's attention by December 31st.
