Rules: Review and Submit Your Comments

The USHJA rules pages were created to educate and inform members about new rule changes, proposed rules, the review process and other helpful information regarding rules effecting hunters and jumpers.

With the creation of these pages members can now directly access rules that specifically affect the hunter jumper industry. Furthermore, we have provided email links for members to submit comments to proponents and committees about individual proposals. Visit the rule change proposal page for more information.

Each fall the USHJA Committees meet to discuss the proposed rules changes in preparation for the USHJA Annual Meeting. Comments will be fielded by USHJA liaisons to the proponents and committees for consideration. Although members can make comments about the rule change proposals anytime, the committees will be reviewing the rule changes prior to the USHJA Annual Meeting. The 2010 USHJA Annual Meeting will be held December 6-9 in San Antonio, TX

2010 World Champion Hunter Rider Wrap-Up

The World Champion Hunter Rider 2010 season had a spectacular conclusion during the Capital Challenge Horse Show, held Oct. 2-10 at the Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The WCHR program, now under the auspices of the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association, continues the tradition of providing show hunter riders with a unique and prestigious program to showcase their talents, both regionally and nationally.

Professional Honors

In the professional division, Scott Stewart, Flemington, NJ, earned a record fourth $7,500 WCHR Professional Finals victory and is the 2010 WCHR Professional National Champion. In the 18-year history of the class, Stewart has competed in the finals 11 times. His name will now be engraved yet again on the All The Way Perpetual Trophy, donated by Elizabeth Busch Burke and Lysa Burke Horkan.

In the class, the top six contenders in the WCHR Professional National standings face-off to determine the national champion. In addition to Stewart, this year's contenders included Kelley Farmer, Tracy Fenney, Sandy Ferrell, John French and Hunt Tosh.
