"More Than Just Ribbons"

A great resource for schools, parents, and potential sponsors, this video will provide a brief introduction into the world of horse showing for junior equestrians.

While focusing on the bond between child and horse, it delves into the challenges of balancing school, riding, and horse care.

"Get Connected"

The Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association, USHJA and USEF are pleased to announce Get Connected, an educational DVD featuring USEF Tests 1-19, with Debbie McDonald (World Cup Champion and U.S. Olympian in Dressage), Cynthia Hankins (USEF “R” Judge, USEF Medal Final winner) and Michael Moran (USEF Judge, most recognized horse show announcer). Get Connected serves as a visual reference guide for riders, trainers and judges, and will be one of the main educational tools used in USEF Judge’s clinics.

Those who have previewed Get Connected agree that it is the highest quality educational DVD made to date. Bill Moroney, President of the United States Hunter and Jumper Association, commented that this DVD “is truly a comprehensive educational tool for the 21st Century”.

2009 Hunter Rule Re-Organization

Last year, the USHJA Open Hunter Task Force began re-organizing the separate Hunter sections of the USEF Rule Book. This task is now complete; and the Hunter, Hunter Pony, Junior Hunter, Pony Breeding, and Hunter Breeding sections will be combined into a single section in the 2009 Rule Book. So that licensed officials, show managers and competitors involved in the Hunter disciplines can familiarize themselves with the new layout, the USHJA is making the new Hunter section available online. Click here to view the re-organization of the Hunter rules. If you have any questions please contact Kristyn Kay at kkay@ushja.org.

Check Your Points!

Members competing in the USHJA Foundation Awards, Hunter Rider Recognition, Jumper Rider Recognition, and Owner Recognition programs can check their points on the USHJA website.

In order to allow award recipients in the Hunter Rider Recognition, Jumper Rider Recognition, and Owner Recognition programs to make timely travel arrangement to the USHJA Annual Meeting, the USHJA is changing the final date members may contest points to October 24. After that date, point standings for 2008 will be locked and no further changes can be made to the 2008 standings.
