USHJA E-Update
May 23,
2007
Announcement of the Judges Mentor
Program
The
USHJA Judges Group is proud to announce the start of the Judges Mentor
Program as of May 1, 2007. There are 34 available Mentors in this program.
A complete list is available at www.usef.org Also available on the web site is
an overview of the Judges Mentor Program, as well as any and all
application forms necessary to become an applicant in the program. We
encourage our members that might be interested in becoming a judge to look
over the materials, and if they feel that they meet the requirements of
the program, contact any mentors of their choice. This program is designed
to help interested, qualified professional horsemen to become licensed
USEF judges.
The USHJA Judges Group feels that
it is vital for our industry to have as many current and
competent professionals become judges as possible. If you feel that you are one
of these people we strongly urge you to take advantage of this new
program. The deadline for completed applications to be returned to the
USEF is July 15, 2007. This is not a lot of time, so we need interested
people to act in a timely fashion.
If you have any questions about the Judges Mentor
Program, please contactMary
Smith, Director of Licensed Officials at
msmith@usef.org or
859.225.6948.
2007 USHJA Owners
Guide
The 2007 Owners Guide is now available! The USHJA Owners Committee
created the Owner's Resource Guide, which is designed to help you, as a
horse owner, make educated decisions and assist you in enjoying your
experiences with horses.
The guide includes the USHJA Owners Sales
Integrity Program which provides basic information and tips to help owners
feel informed and confident in the sales process. The guide also
outlines responsibilities to owners and riders when at a horse show,
including the organization obligations to ensure that your points will
count for a specific class or division.
To request a copy of the USHJA Owners Guide,
please contact Melanie Fransen at mfransen@ushja.org
